I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in Vermont. My professional experience includes community-based case management and therapeutic support in a variety of settings, including medical social work, mental health & crisis, primary care, geriatrics, and developmental services.
My roots are in Wyoming, home of the beautiful & wild Wind River Mountain Range. In my free time, I enjoy reading, music, puzzles & games, and being in the mountains and on the water.
My practice at Wind River Therapy is centered on building a strong therapeutic connection through deep listening and empathy, collaboration, and honesty.
I use a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to create a safe environment for you to be seen, heard, and to start healing.
I offer a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental, and supportive space for you to be your authentic self and to receive help.
Through our work together, you may rediscover the inner self that may be buried beneath shame, guilt, negative automatic thoughts, and false core beliefs. You can develop communication skills; learn tools to improve relationships; understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behavior; build your emotional capacity to manage life stressors; improve self-awareness; reframe challenges; explore solutions; increase motivation for change; and explore how your past experiences may be impacting your present life.
Areas of concern include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, communication & boundaries, emotional regulation, relationship concerns, self-esteem & self-worth, life transitions, and chronic stress.
My practice draws on a background in Transformative and Clinical Social Work. I use an integrative approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy, Attachment Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, and Mindfulness.
